ADC’s Brand Uses AI to Create New Patterns

ADC’s brand identity is a system that can create many different patterns. CLEVER°FRANKE built it from mathematical symbols connected to ADC’s business. A brand identity is the visual system that helps people recognize an organization. Here, the system produces new images instead of offering only fixed designs.

The patterns use plus signs, crosses, dots, dashes, triangles, and diamonds. These shapes gather and join based on how close they are. A quadtree helps organize the space by dividing it into smaller areas. This gives the patterns a shared structure, even when they look different. The logo uses the same shape language but stays black or white.

The team chose Ease, a typeface by Studio Feixen, for the brand. Its letters combine an organized feeling with a more expressive character. The colors also move away from the dark look often used by technology brands. Violet, pink, teal, green, yellow, and gold appear across the patterns. Reports and presentation slides can therefore look related without looking exactly the same.

A custom AI model helps run the pattern tool. The tool uses more than 50 parameters, or settings that shape its results. The model learned from more than 100 data points about ADC’s work, values, and people. Users describe a project in a web tool and receive three pattern choices. They pick a favorite, and this choice feeds back into the model.

A dashboard keeps track of the patterns and their variety. The article reports 87 patterns generated that month and 1,232 in total. The main idea is to connect clear visual rules with flexible creation. People can make different materials while using the same brand system. Their choices also become part of the process that shapes future patterns.
